ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Erik Weihenmayer began his career as a middle-school English teacher before becoming one of the most accomplished adventure athletes in the world. In 2001, he made history as the first blind person to summit Mount Everest. Later, he completed the Seven Summits, the tallest peak on each continent. His expeditions have pushed far beyond climbing, including kayaking the entire length of the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. Erik is also a founder of No Barriers USA, a nonprofit organization that helps people with disabilities to push through obstacles and build a mindset of possibility. He is the author of Touch the Top of the World, which was made into a feature film; The Adversity Advantage; and No Barriers. Erik lives in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and is the proud father of Emma and Arjun.
